Default New to forum... My Story with history, bloodwork, etc. Any help appreciated

Hi guys.

First I would like to say how much I respect you guys for posting on this forum. I have learned much from reading many posts on here and other forums and have educated my urologist on many things due to the knowledge I have gained from your shared experiences. With that said, I felt the need to post (very long time reader, here and other forums, first time poster) to share my experiences (perhaps it will help others) and to see if any of you could shed some light on the issues at hand. I will try and keep it brief and as concise as possible. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Background:

hght - 6'2
wght - 180
age -30

problems:

Current - Lack of libido and loss of pleasure/sensation. I have not been able to climax during intercourse in over 2 years. Previous - Low test and ED and lack of desire (in the process of correcting).

History:

Excellent sex drive (perhaps WAY too good at times) up until my "pro-hormone" (or should I say over the counter designer steroids that were about as good for my body as rat poison) use at 26 years old. Never used real gear except TRT doctor prescribed trying to solve above problems. Used mostly otc pct products as well. No clomid or Nolva. Products like tribulus and longjack helped but never really restored sex drive without a constant use of them. Finally went for professional help.

2006 - After an up and down year saw a Uro. Had a bad prostate infection at the time along with low test symptoms. Had test levels checked - came back at 427 ng/dl. 11:00 a.m. test time. Roughly 4-5 months after last cycle. Stated everything was normal and in my head. Gave me Viagra for ED and suggested a cystoscopy (where a camera the thickness of a pen is shoved up you penis - won't even get started on that except that what you imagine it would feel like -- That's EXACTLY what it feels like!!) to make sure everything was ok. Which of course after that horrendous experience was. Needless to say it was time to find a new Uro.

2007 - After some trying to self-medicate with OTC sex/test boosters and some clomid from research labs, found a new Uro. Good guy, fertility and sexual dysfunction expert as per credentials, but I'm a unique case to him of course. Luckily he has been willing to work outside the box with me and I have been seeing him for over a year now.

Tests:

7/10/07 3:00 p.m. test time

Testosterone: 338 241-827
Free Test: 8.5 9.3-26.5 Low
Estradiol: 26 0-53
Prolactin: 6.9 2.1-17.7
DHEA 944 208-771 High??? (Opinions?)
LH 4.1 1.5-9.3
FSH 2.3 1.4-18.1

Due to my age, TRT was an option I was not looking for. Doctor was originally hesitant about any type of outlined PCT or restart protocal I had personally researched on the net. Arimidex was suggested around this time. Bumped my levels to around the high 500's. Still had some ED in the evening and lack of desire but GREAT morning wood. Finally TRT was agreed upon. For a few months we experimented with injections. Started at 100/mg per week. 5 weeks no real improvement. Bumped up to 200 mg per week. 5 weeks I felt better as far as energy, aggression, etc. but still no improvement really on libido, sensation, etc. Levels were checked (for briefness I won't post all BW), got T up to 1100 or so. Gave up on being a pin cushion after a few months since it wasn't helping.

Recently:

Finally after a year of seeing him I got him to agree to HCG/Nolva treatment about 2 months back. On 500 iu every other day for about 1 month. Felt fantastic 1.5 weeks into it. Libido was good so was sensation but then it declined again. Test was taken day after my last shot:

Tests:

9/26/08 12:30 P.M. test time

Testosterone 816 241-827
LH 0.3 1.5-9.3
Estradiol 58 <= 54

Basic Metabolic panel, liver enzymes, etc. were done. Everything within range. Although the below concerned me. Seemed pretty low on the low scale and from research the below plays into histamine levels and hypercortisol. Any expert opinions?

Eosinophils% 0.8 0-8%
Basophils% 0.3 0-2%

Eosin.,Absolute 57 15-550
Baso., Absolute 21 0-200

Most Recent:

Prescribed 10 mg of nolva per day. Started on last week of HCG shots as per above. After about 1 month of 10 mg per day got my results today.

Test:

10/24/08 2:00 p.m. test time

Testosterone 674 241-827
free test 98.5 50-210
percent free 1.5% 1.0-2.7%
LH 6.0 1.5-9.3
Prolactin 5.7 2-18
Estradiol >32 <32

Told the doc I was going to drop down to 5 mg a day on nolva if my testosterone levels came back > 650 ng/dl which they did. Still have not seen an improvement in libido or sensation. I am hoping it is the extra estro from the Nolvadex and everything will balance out. Also hoping that once its all said and done my levels are in order, even if my libido hasn't returned. At least then I can rule out low Testosterone as my problem.

I believe my balls are intact and working well. Any thoughts? Do any of you believe I will be able to successfully keep my Test levels say over 600 ng/dl?

All your feedback will be greatly appreciated. I will take seriously any suggestions or concerns you may have. Its been a long expensive ride for me. And if there are any young guys out there looking to use gear or pro-hormone supps, seriously consider the consequences. I would gladly give up all the gains I made taking that crap just to have decent sex again.

I think the restoration of libido is possible, give TRT time to work. Though I felt better on injections every week, it wasn't until months later -- stabilized at my dose -- that I really began to feel a consistent cascade of goodness, lol.

What does your doctor think about the nolvadex raising your LH and testosterone? Since you said this was induced from pro-hormones maybe trying to restart your system might be worth considering with your doctor. If your really serious about it I would suggest taking the trip to see Dr. John, hes the best at it.

Through proper lifestyle and nutritional balancing one can some time bring body back into balance, but it takes a great deal of patience. One has to be dedicated to a good 6 months lifestyle over haul wanting it more then anything. Some times medical intervention with proper guidence though experts like Dr John himself may be necessary to get things going. In conjunction with medical intervention and lifestyle changes your chances of success are greatly improved. Every client is different and what path they take is their choice. I had one person come to me on TRT and wants to try to restart because he is still young and does not rely on TRT for rest of his life. I told him he needs to consult with his phyiscian before embarking on this goal and needs to be educated from a clinican stand point on what to expect and that it will not be an overnight process. I made it clear that he had freedom of choice, but he has to live with the consquences of his action either good or bad. I will tell you this from a physician stand point (Dr john can concur with this BIG TIME) people will come to you looking for help they been to several other people. In their eyes they have this mentality "fix me" and if you do not make them well "you" become the horrible DR and another excuse for their illness. I hear it all the time while I went to DR X hes the best in the business, even he could not help me. Now people like this need to be handle with extreme caution because 9 times out of 10 they are trying to make another excuse for not getting better, or looking for attention .With these people if I do not feel comfortable may be referred out to other Dr's mainly psychologist. I am starting to network with alot of different Dr's to where we can get referals.

HAN is spot on, you have to have the right mindset when embarking on something like this. Its a journey, there will be ups and downs. It sure is not an over night fix, but proper guidance from a good doctor such as Dr. John makes the journey much more bearable.

One of the funniest responses I got from a client who was on workman's comps. I was doing a self esteem and pain management technique with this client. I asked him "How would you rate the pain 0-10 scale" He said 10. I asked him " if you wanted to reduce the pain, what number would you want to be at on scale of 0-10?" he responded "3" Ok light bulbs, bells and whistles where going off in my head that he had secondary gain from this.
MY next step was to refer him out to another dr. Trust me I have seen some of the craziest people !!

Main point is that you need to want to get better mentally other wise it will never manifest naturally.

Crazy how important a good, positive mentality is to getting and staying healthy isnt it! Since having my hormonal issues my whole view on life and being healthy has changed. Its weird how it takes a hard situation to open your eyes to how you were living. I used to take my health for granted, ate crappy, stayed up late etc etc. Now, im much more aware of what goes into my body, getting proper sleep and exercise. All of these are important on the road to wellness.

I don't see why not... Your testes are obviously working well.. I would not give up on them if I were you.

Haven't spoken to him regarding the last bloodtest on Nolva. I called and got the results from his nurse. He was pleased to see that I responded so well to the low dose of HCG 500 iu/eod and was able to get T over 800 on the previous test. He is a fertility specialist and works with patients who have a lot less going on down there with much higher doses of HCG. He is not too familiar with Restarts/Steroids/PCT etc. He has been very flexible with me as far as this goes, but I think he is learning in the process too. At this point, the goal is to slowly taper the Nolva (just started 5mg/day) and see if my T levels hold. Ween off eventually.

I know what you mean. Before starting any of this prohormone garbage I had terrible fast food eating habits, smoked, drank, etc. and I would get a hard-on catching a wiff of a girl's perfume! All of a sudden I started having problems with Mr Winky and everything changed! For months I gave up smoking, drinking, fast food, and tried to do everything right. Didn't change my T levels much, but I did feel better as a whole. I've grown into much moderation now, and a healthier lifestyle which should impact my health positively in the future. Perhaps I can say once my libido issues are resolved it was all for the best... Now if I could only recoup all the $$$ I spent trying to resolve the issue!!
