who drinks it?

what kind?

any whole milk?

2%?

1%

skim?

I grew up on whole milk (farm in Nebraska) and went to 2%, 25-30 years ago then skim a year after that. I am back to 2% again; tastes like cream witbh whey!!! My cholesterol is fibe, BP is ok. Thoughts on drinking 2%.

Btw, both of my kids nursed for 3 months, then formula, then WHOLE MILK until age 10. Neither was a fat kid or are fat adults. I firmly believe in whole milk for young kids. My grand kids are drinking whole milk now!

thoughts on giving your young children whole milk?

You are supposed to start whole milk at 1 year, 12 months. You are supposed to hold off on the 2% until they are no longer toddlers at all, at roughly 4 - 5 years. A child as small as 1 year still needs the fat contained in the whole milk.

As long as there are no hormones in it (rbgh) and they aren't lactose intolerant I don't see why not. Milk does the body good. At least it did mine. I would drink a half gallon in two days as a kid. In fact I used to just turn up the whole half gallon and drink it from the jug.

Shhhhhh.... don't tell my mom.

We drink raw unpasteurized non-homongenized politically-incorrect natural hormone free milk from the farm. Our son drinks it, I drink it.

My opinion is that 1%, 2% is just a scam so the large dairies can take that fat and sell it for more money as ice cream. I also don't believe that saturated fat from grass fed animals is bad, I don't believe it causes hardening of the arteries and I believe the original study by Ancel Keyes on saturated fat was flawed. I see no value in anything but whole milk, except of course whipping cream.

If anyone wants more info, superhumanradio.com has some podcast on it, as does ChrisKresser.com.

Milk has caesine which can be irritating to the intestinal. Its not the lactose, but casein which may be culprit.
Nothing will replace mothers milk, Too bad they do not offer it as an extra incentive for being intimate. One could always use a little extra nourishment LOL
