I am flying very soon too. You might call the airport and ask them what they will want you to do. Have all your meds in a plastic zip lock bag with your prescription lables. They might direct you to a separate station to examine your meds and they are used to seeing people bring in insulin needles.
Just allow a little extra time should you have to make an additional stop to check the meds.
Fortunately I can use the testosterone when I get back, albeit probably 4.5 hours later than usual.

Ask Samuel Jackson.... He had to deal with Snakes On A Plane a few years back... It was a big mess and the whole trip sucked.....

Just take only the needles you need while on the trip. If you bring the entire box you're going to attact unnecessary attention. If you're going for long enough to require checked luggage you can put your needles in your checked luggage.
If you can wait and take your weekly shot when you get home then don't bother bringing the stuff. I sometimes take my shot a day early or take it a day or two late just to not have to worry about airport issues or risking my meds getting lost or stolen while out of town.

I've flown several with a bottle of testosterone in its prescription container, along with # needles needed + 1 and some alcohol wipes. I just put the baggie on top of the shoes and have never once been questioned. I would not go out of my way to draw attention to it, but it is fine and allowed.

Needles require a scrip?
In all states?

Not in Colorado.

In Louisiana they don't require a seperate script but at Walgreens they check the computer to make sure I'm prescribed something that has to be injected.
