Just out here for a little vacation from the madness.

Flying through the air in a metal tube 30,000 feet above ground is a strange feeling.

Tomorrow I'm going turkey hunting, and possibly whatever else I can find and shoot, er, legally of course.

The mountains here are beautiful.

Welcome to my neck of the woods! Are you staying in downtown Portland? If so, I hope you get to enjoy many of the great breweries down there.

Not right in Dowtown, but close, by the airport. I have a van though. Although I think I destroyed the emergency brake, I drove like 3 miles with it on. Whoops.

Yea, microbrews.. Name a few. I need one. :cheers2:

Hopefully I get to shoot some cool handguns today.

Tomorrow its Disk Golf time

Its beautiful out here, and alive man. Blows Michigan away.

My only gripe is all the young and able bodied people here who keep asking me for change.

Get a job hippies

Thanks, I needed this vacation.

You must look fit and healthy, and therefore wealthy.

I still think Michigan (at least northern Michigan) is one of the most beautiful states in the country. But the economy has me contemplating looking for work elsewhere.

Ha! Fit and Healthy yes, wealthy no.

I dress like a bum. Think dirty tennis shoes, beat up jeans and worn out zip up track coats and hats (see pic)

By all means yes. I love Michigan as well. We have the largest state owned natural forest lands in the country. It is an amazing place, especially from April to Hallowween. Especially in the fall.

But I can't handle the dark, dreary, cold winters anymore nor the economy. I don't think its healthy. Nor do I think the environment, and the urban sprawl is really conducive to fostering a high QOL, at least for me. Metro Detroit is dying a sad death, and I'm not sticking around for it.

I need to be in an urban, progressive and growing city with a good splash of nature surrounding it.

I'm scoutin out portland, seattle and denver for places to move. :thumbup1:

Well, I can vouch for both Seattle and Portland. Both are great cities and have many similarities. Seattle is bigger and a bit more "corporate". Portland is smaller, a little more laid back. I live in Seattle and prefer it to Portland, simply because of the Puget Sound.

I will be shooting up to Seattle on Monday, till thursday.

Today I went to the Portland Saturday market. That was a lot of fun.

Note the strong fundmentalist Christian influence in Colorado. If you decide to move there, better to wait until after the rapture.

Hey there! I'm staying in Greenlake with friends.

Yesterday I went everywhere. Rode the monorail, went to the arboretum, disk golfed at seatac airport, bummed around kirkland(beautiful).

Seattle is cool, but honestly, I think I liked Portland even better. Had more of a weird, edgy energy to it, with a little grittiness to it.

Today I was out for a walk through the ravine and down the street, and I seen a sign that said "Hcg diet clinic".

Really? I heard Denver is a pretty freewheeling liberal place :thumbup1:

Possibly it is a little Oasis from the righties

Portland definitely has an "edgy" vibe. I love this town and am quite fond of the entire PNW. CO is pretty cool too, just stay from the Springs (that's where the fundies live).

wow man, nice work! Beautiful pics, from a beautiful place. I moved away for a few years (Texas, 2004-2007), and I realize everyday how lucky I am to be back in Seattle.

Thanks man! That was just a small fraction too. I didn't have a camera with me for Portland.

I fit in the Pacific North West like a Pig in Mud.

What a beautiful place :cheers2:
