Hello,
I've been lurking on this site for a short while after I realized I had symptoms of low testosterone. I would first of all like to say thank you to Dr. Crissler for his work and to this forum for all of the collective knowledge. I got labs done by a knowledgable ND and the results are below. These are from a Rhein 24 hour urine panel (PITA to do BTW, but worth it I guess):
Test results Range
E1 .9 (3-12.0)
E2 1.2 (0-7.0)
E3 1.3 (1-16)
Total Estrogens 3.4 (4-22)
Testosterone 35 (45-85)
Dihydrotestosterone 6.3 (0-13)
Androstanediol 75 (48-578)
Androstenedione none (0-50)
DHEA 240 (5-1476)
5-AT 580 (42-710)
AN 2614 (798-4705)
OHAN 797 (461-1692)
ET 1768 (689-3252)
OHET 62 (134-1186)
PD 187 (32-501)
5-PT 173 (28-1062)
Cortisone 222 (92-366)
THE 4327 (1365-5788)
THB 117 (32-238)
5a-THB 302 (135-588)
Cortisol 129 (35-168)
THF 1549 (249-2800)
5a-THF 1205 (796-2456)
I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroid and have been taking natur throid (organic fed Armour) for 8 days and I have felt amazing the last 4 days or so. Don't have those numbers on me but I believe the ration between t4/t3 was good but that the overall level was low (?).
I also just took a blood test and it confirmed low total test, with normal free test and normal shbg. I don't have the numbers yet, will get those on my next visit.
I have just cut out starches from my diet as well as changing my workout routine to early AM instead of late PM. I lift full body 2-3 days/week including compounds every workout. I have never used AAS or other Pro-hormones.
I am about to start taking some natural test boosters to see how high my levels will get w/o resorting to trt and will test & re-evaluate then. Anyone have any thoughts on my panel? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't even budge an inch to do anything other than manage the thyroid at this point.
It's going to be a rollercoaster for a while.
Consider and research thyroid support until you level it out. It can take years to do so, but you want to at least stabilize first (3 months?) before touching anything else. Your other hormone levels will change dramatically soon.

You will wind up needing several supps, but since you're getting such a good bang-for-buck with just your thyroid supps, I agree with researchin, ie: stick with the thyroid supps until you stabilize, then restest.
The only way to manage several supps concurrently is with lots of testing and a knowledgeable medical professional adviser who knows how to manage several supps concurrently.
Managing several supps concurrently requires the medical professional adviser to understand how boosting one will influence the others - because boosting one will always influence the others.
So, if your medical professional adviser has the skills to manage multiple hormone supplements concurrently, then you will recover more quickly by taking his/her recommended several supplements concurrently, and managing their doses appropriately.
And the converse is also true, ie: if your medical professional adviser does not have the skills to manage multiple hormone supplements concurrently, then you will recover more quickly by adding only one-hormone-at-a-time to your treatment plan, and you will recover more slowly if you attempt to add multiple hormones concurrently to your treatment plan.
###
Since it's very difficult to gauge in advance whether your medical professional adviser can handle multiple hormone supplements concurrently, therefore you need to accept what your medical professional adviser is offering - and in your case, it's one-hormone-at-a-time.
###
Hence in your case, you should only go with thyroid hormone supplements at this time.
###
And please retest in a few months and let us know how you fared ?

Post your blood tests that you have.
Post them in historical sequence.
Describe any medicine or supplements that you have been taking prior to those tests.
Post them in tabular fashion,
analyte name, value, units, ranges, laboratory name
=========================================
Since you have mentioned thyroid,
make sure that you be specific about your
thyroid and adrenals tests.
------------
Describe protocol of your thyroid treatment.

I understand your theory, however what about the OP's question? I don't have my labs on me at this time but I have low t3/t4, elevated tsh, ridiculously low T and E2, along with slightly low adrenal levels. My ND is very hip and would have dx adrenal fatigue if she thought that is what I had.
Has anyone recovered their genetic max T levels using thyroid treatment alone?
Take your time, post your blood tests.
I suspect that you have low SHBG & TBG

I don't have the results of my shbg or tbg, will have those in the next few weeks. Was feeling great for two weeks after the thyroid meds but am back to feeling so-so with no increase whatsoever in libido. I know I am in for a long ride but I am eager to get going on the right track.

You're only in for a long and rough ride if you and your medical professional adviser agree to do infrequent testing.
The more testing you and your medical professional adviser can arrange, the faster you will learn how your body responds to various dosages of your hormone supplements.
We cannot reverse engineer much of what's happening without "before-and-after" lab results, and symptoms reports. We can guess (of course) and most likely we'd be wrong.
You need to discuss with your medical professional adviser about more frequent testing while you're in the discovery phase. (discovering how your body responds to different dosages of supplements)
If you discuss your before-and-after results and symptoms here, then we can help you understand why this rose and that fell, etc...
Then, once you've worked out how your body responds, you and your medical professional adviser can agree to back off the testing and do infrequent testing, and only tune your supplements slightly.

I appreciate the reply chilln. I am getting my thyroid/test/est hormones tested after about a month of .5 grain armour and will evaluate then.

For what its worth - i'm on .5 grain of Armour for the past 4 weeks. Same rollercoaster - up initially, now things have just leveled out.
waiting for my blood as well. Good luck with this.. I'm dying for faster results but it seems like patience is the key.
Correction: .5 grain of Armour AND hcg mono!

Two weeks ago you said:
"I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroid"
please post tests that led to that diagnosis.
