Has anyone ever had blood work showing higher than normal Creatinine levels?

Could drinking lots of Reb Bull and lots of vitamin C (vitamin water) cause this to occur? Dr has me going to Kidney specialist next week just a little nervous at this time thinking what it could be

Having a lot of muscle mass and/or taking creatine supplements and/or eating unusually large amounts of red meat can cause creatinine elevation. Otherwise, it is not usually affected much by environmental factors. Assuming he repeated the test to make sure it was a valid result, I think referring you to the renal guy was a good move.

I had two tests one day apart. The LabCorp test came up high and the Quest came up normal a day later. If you have eaten a lot of protein this can cause it to go up. If you have worked out prior to the test or workout on a regular basis this can cause higher than normal levels. Also if you carry more muscle than normal it will also cause it to rise.

Have it double checked by a different lab if possible if not then certainly double checked by the same lab. How elevated above normal was it? If just slightly I am willing to bet it's just something from the above list that would make you test higher than normal.

I think I was 1.6 and 1.8 on my 2 tests

mine was 1.4-- a bit high-- my physician was not concerned--my levels have run 1.3 to 1.4 (high) since 1980. My doctor seems to think it has to do with my workout routine and fairly high protein diet. As mentioned, heavily muscled individual can have slightly elevated levels.
