I started HCG injections yesterday morning, and have done two thus far. My problem is the little 31 gauge 5/16" needle seems to be destroyed by the stopper on the vial...I already threw out a few syringes(and small amounts of HCG) before getting good ones. By the time I inject, the needle seems to be dull(I get more of a poke from the 31 gauge than I do from a 23 or 25 gauge when I do my IM testosterone cypionate!). After it's in, it takes more force than I'd expect to get the medication out(I expected it to take much less force than the testosterone cypionate).
The HCG the pharmacy gave me is Pregnyl, and the side of the vial says "for intramuscular use", even though my doctor prescribed it for subq use. Is it possible it has a thick stopper intended for larger needles or something? Heck, getting the 20 gauge mixing needle through it took more force than I expected.
I'm using BD Ultra-Fine syringes, and the needle doesn't appear to be removable. Most of the insulin syringes I can find online don't seem to have swappable needles(so I could draw and inject with different ones). Any suggestions?
I don't mind the poke at all...but using a bent/dull needle that could break off or have other issues doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Make sure you are pushing the needle through the middle of the stopper. the edges are much thicker and the needle won't go through there. Also be sure to let the alcohol dry on your skin before injecting. Wet alcohol will cause a sting when injecting. Also, be careful that the needle doesn't get bent when filling the syringe.

I did the same thing my first time. If you'll look on the underside of the top of the stopper you can see the thick sides thru the glass. You do have to make sure you are in the center and pointing straight down when entering the vial.

I use a 27g 1ml x 1/2" long needle for my HCG shots I shoot into my thigh. I don't feel the shot doing it subq. I get a nice feeling of well being in 15 to 30 min.'s after shooting into my thigh. I don't get this feeling subq.

Thanks for all the tips. I did go through the exact middle of the stopper on my later tries and it helped a little. I also tried holding the vial and syringe with one hand and moving the plunger with the other to keep the needle from bending.
It still took some force to get the needle through the skin, and a fairly large amount of force to push out the medication. Maybe I just got a super-stopper on this vial. I'll be careful to try not to use any needles that seem bent.
Does anyone know of 31g 5/16" insulin syringes with replaceable needles? That'd solve my problems if I could swap needles before injecting.

It may be hard at first, untill you learn how to do it right.
You are definitely doing something that is different that anybody else is doing.
I cannot imagine not being able to force needle thru my skin.
I am talking about the same needle that I used few minutes before to dilute the HCG first and was poking it thru rubber stopper 7-8 times.
Then if it is hard for you to push HCG,
how are you going to push Depo-Testosterone thru the same size needle.
Testosterone is much harder to push than HCG.
I am not even asking on how you will suck the oil thru that same needle, into the syringe.
Possibly others can figure what it is going on here,
I am using this 3/10cc syringes with fixed (non-repleacable) needles, 31Ga 5/16"long needles, for over 2 years, without problems.
.
================================================== ===========
About rubber stopper on a vial,
when new and unused, it is covered (with aluminum).
You are supposed to take it out (only the CENTER) of that aluminum foil.
I hope that you are not trying to poke the needle thru aluminum, I hope that you properly removed the top cover from rubber stopper before use.
.
I sympatize with you, I am sure it is frustrating at first, do not get discouraged, it will get easier with time.

that thin of a needle can bend easily, you can always go up to higher - 28 gauge might be better for you. You will feel it a bit more but it is still thin enough that there will be no pain.

Jan get 5ml needles to mix your HCG this way you only need to stick it 2x's to put in 10 mls of water.

I am using ether 2000iu or 1500iu they come with 1mL diluetant.
I have always fresh HCG and I do not have to spend money on any additional syringes.

Im definitely no expert here - just started my hcg mono therapy a month ago.
i noticed the same thing however, if i use the same needle 31g to draw the hcg - its noticeably harder to poke into the skin. Since those are fixed needles, i'm probably just doing it wrong.
what HAS worked for me is to have an 18g that i use for mixing - use it to draw - then swap the needle back to the 25g 1" needle that comes with my 3ml BD syringe.
fresh needle seems to penetrate the skin/muscle with very little effort and no pain. Granted, its in the glutes. not sure if i would want to use a 1" needle in my thigh.

I must admit that during my over a two years long experience doing injections,
I always used only one type of syringes.
they are cadillac of syringes (I guess) and probably that is why they charge double of the usual price.
That is I can buy about 2.5 boxes of other same size syringes for the money I am spending for a one box.
Possibly it is a money wery well spend.
I newer had any problem injecting with needle that I previously used to poke thru rubber stopper 6-8 times while mixing the HCG.
I suspect that if I use that needle to do injection into my heel it will go thru with out any problem.
Wery likely it would go thru a sole of snicker without a hitch.
(I am doing shot tommorow, will try snicker's sole after I am done with my shot).
These is what I am using:

If I had any complains about this syringe,
it is that the piston is soo smooooth that when filling up with testosterone I have to hold the piston all the time.
I have seen descriptions that people would pull on plunger and it would stay in place, my plungers are extremely smooth, comes back if not held in place.

That's all I needed to hear JanSz. The plunger on mine is flimsy and seizes up about 4 times per injection and the darn thing just isn't that sharp. I took your advice and ordered a box of the nicer syringes.
Thanks for the help everyone. I'll report back once I try the new syringes/needles.

How large of a dose of HCG can you do with a 3/10cc syringe?

How large of a dose of HCG can you do with a 3/10cc syringe?
3/10cc=30units
1cc=100units
I like to dilute my HCG into 2000iu/cc density
full 3/10cc syringe will hold= (2000iu/cc)*(0.3cc)=600iu
HCG comes in
10000iu ---> to get 2000iu/cc use 5ml diluetant
5000iu -----> to get 2000iu/cc use 2.5ml diluetant
2000iu -----> to get 2000iu/cc use 1ml diluetant
1500iu -----> to get 2000iu/cc use 0.75ml diluetant
================================================== ======
I think some people are getting
11000iu HCG
and are asked to use 4.4ml diluetant
that will result in 11000iu/4.4cc=2500iu/cc density
3/10cc syringe will hold maximum of (2500iu/cc)*(0.3cc)=750iu
the often seen dose of 250iu=(250iu)/(2500iu/cc)=0.1cc=10units

I suck out HCG, Sermorlin and GHRP6 with the same needle, so I'l going thru that rubber stopper 3x, and have no problem getting thru my skin.
I also use BDs 5/16" 31g

Using one syringe to get three medications in it may cause mixing them in their vaials.
How safe is that method, for medicines that remains in their vials?
HCG foams real easy, (reminds of soapy water), hard to get any bubbles out.
-----------------------------------------
I do two shots at the same time, Depo-test and HCG.
Would you use only one syringe for the procedure, (would save me one poking)?

One picture shows me holding testosterone vial with inserted syringe, note that plunger is pulled down 5-10 ticks beyond planned fill, (I have to hold a plunger with my pinky otherwise it would be sucked back).

To convince any body who still have any doubts about sturdines of 31Ga 5/16" long needles (and the whole syringe assembly) the next picture shows two syringes inserted into a sole of my snicker.

I admit that I have experience with only one type of syringes.
I admit that those syringes are over 2x more expensive than other available syringe that I could buy from the same supplier.
I buy these syringes, here:

the Lite Touch ones I have are good too, 30g 5/16". If you jab them quick, you don't even feel it.

JanSz, I ordered those exact needles from Hocks.com as you suggested(triple checked). They came in the mail today, and the box says "Ultrafine" and not "Ultrafine II". Looks different from the box on the website, too. (Colored all the way around instead of having a white background). The invoice that came in the shipping container says "Ultrafine II".
Are these the right ones, or did they send me an older style?

You are going to be fine.
As long as it is BD I am assuming same high quality.
I just got new supply of those syringes.
Box look different than the old box.
My box also says "Ultrafine" I do not have the old box anymore, can't compare.
I do not have experience with other syringes, so cannot attest about quality of other products.
That said, I am assuming that just about any syringe would do the job (as long as is real tiny).
Some beginers may have few problems with lesser quality but the learning curve is usually steep.
Once in the past, someone have given me excuuse that his hands are not steady plus he have fat fingers, I am assuming that that kind of person would still be able to use these syringes, possibly it would take him little more time.
Someone who have to use large syringes, regardless of needle size, would still get the job done. With large syringes there is significant dead space, they would waste significant amount of medicine.
