What do you folks think is the best way to get iodine in our bodies. There is always Iodoral but what about salt containing iodine? The salt option is much cheaper and can be easily sprinkled on food. Any thoughts/experiences?

I was using Sea Salt for a while. When I realized that it had no Iodine I switched back to regular salt.

I haven't thought about Iodine. I was getting it from iodized salt but I haven't been using it due to high BP.

Salt is really not as big a deal with BP as they say.
Iodized salt is good for you. You don't want to overdo it but some is OK.

You can take magnesium to help with BP. Celery also lowers BP. As does Viagra!

You want a mix of iodide and iodine. The salt only gives you one of the two (actually the harder to absorb variety). Either get some lugol's or if that is hard on stomach etc. get some iodoral. I have a huge bottle of lugol's (like half liter I think) that will probably expire well before I use it all. Got it for around 25 bucks about a year ago.

I got a bottle of Kent's lugol solution from a fish store. I believe it has the same proportions as regular lugols( though I havn't tested so I'm not recommeding anyone else do so) Ingredients: Deioonized water, potassium iodide , iodine. I believe 2 drops = 15 mcg. Here's a little excerpt I found Online comparing table salt vs. sea salt:

Ordinary table salt has been stripped of its companion elements and contains additive. In studies table salts have been link to hypertension and other heart or blood illness. Table salt also gives many people the feeling of being bloating.

Natural sea salt is a healthy replacement for ordinary table salt on the market; it contains about 80 mineral elements that the body needs. Sea salt has nutrients and minerals that help your body preserve the blood cells. Overall, sea salts are better for you. If you haven't tried it, switch salts for a week and you will see a difference.

Hey scottyo,
Could you give a heads up on where you got that lugol's? If you don't want to post maybe send a pm. Thanks---Raw
