I received a new vile of Novarel today. For some crazy reason I decided to read the drug information insert. Under the dosage section for selected cases of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in males:
1. 500 to 1000 USP units 3 times per week for three weeks. Followed by the same dose for twice a week for three weeks
2. 4000 USP units three times weekly for 6 to 9 months. Followed by a reduction to 2000 USP units 3 times weekly for an additional three months.
I am assuming that USP unit equals IU.
Seems odd that a drug manufacturer would recommend a dose that would damage Leydig cells per Dr. John's HCG statement that a dose greater than 500 IU at one time causes Leydig cell desensitivity.
