Dr.C or any other brothers:
Why do people on trt usually not take HCG the week of the follow-up labs?
By not taking HCG the week of the labs, doesn't that give one a lower testosterone and lower e2 result than one would have otherwise had? If people do take HCG the week of the labs wouldn't that more accurately reflect their usual testosterone and e2?
If not taking HCG the week of the labs changes testosterone and e2 results, then by how much? Wouldn't one want to know what the testosterone and e2 are with HCG too?
Thanks

Just my opinion but I think it is because he wants to see what exogenous administration of test does to your levels without the testes contributing from HCG administration.

That makes sense; however, I would love to know what the testosterone and e2 levels are with the HCG. Wouldn't that more accurately reflect one's historical/usual levels, i.e. with HCG.
Has anyone ever taken blood tests while still administering HCG the week of the blood tests? Is there a significant difference in Testosterone and e2 while on HCG versus while off of it?
Has anyone had success staving off testicular atrophy and maintaining testicular function while taking only one 250mg injection of HCG per week? If so, which day is best to take it, 2 days or one day before the testosterone injection?
Thanks!!:confused1:

Nope I have done on it and off it and on ultrasenstive it moved only 2 points.
I shoot mine day before test on a bi weekly schedule and just skip hcg day before.

Hard:
"Nope", to which question?
You only use HCG once every other week? If so, is that enough to stave off testicular atrophy and maintain testicular function? How many mg per injection? You skip HCG the day before what?
Thanks a million

The day before the draw I skip the HCG to see what my body is doing with out it. No to the effect that skipping the hcg should not make that much of a difference in your e2. I did it the day before the shot and it raised it only 2 points on ultrasensitive, but the reason is to test what the T admintration is doing on its own. That is why it is smart to adjust the T first then add in the hcg later on down the road when e2 and T are stable for a few months.

What is considered the "week of labs"? This has never been completely clear to me.
If someone is doing the standard 1x per week Testosterone Cypionate shot with HCG the two days prior.....does the "week of labs" start on the day of the Testosterone Cypionate shot and you only don't do the HCG late in the week if your labs fall on one of those two days? Or do you need to skip the HCG prior to the last Testosterone Cypionate shot that is done before the lab draw?

Wow, nearly a 3 year bump.... =p

The way I understand it... may or may not be correct...
If your normal weekly schedule is something like Mon-HCG / Tues-HCG / Wed-Tshot / Thurs-Sun Nothing...
Week 1 Normal Schedule
Week 2 Mon-skip / Tue-skip / Wed-Labwork, then after blood draw do T shot.
Week 3 Normal Schedule again.
So at the time of the labs your last T shot was 7 days prior, and the last HCG shots were 8 and 9 days prior.

Yes this is the way my Dr. has me do this he said he needs to see how my T levels are from my Test C shots and what we do when I am leveled good and don't have a problem. I do labs every 10 weeks and one test will be using HCG that week I do shots every 3 days and I do HCG the day before my test C shot. So I would not do the HCG the day before and on my test C shot day do labs frist. Then the next time I would do the HCG.
What we see different is my E2 would be fine but my Total Bio and Free T would be up about 25%.
But I am secondary and my testis work dam good.

i don't get it
i did a sustanon shot on monday and skipped hcg on weekend to get monday blooddraw
my level was 11 (8-35)
so yeah the test levels from the shot alone gave me that reading, i understand that you wanna see if your shot is effective, and with my reading it probably was (higher earlier that week)
but isn't it so that the hcg is supposed to keep you leveled? so you get a higher reading on monday?
e2 will be low as well on that day so you don't know if hcg is working for you...
