I am unwilling to take finasteride pills, but still want to maintain my hair.

I am on all the topicals except topical finasteride/dutasteride.

I have heard some do very well with it.

Do you think topical fin/dutas would absorb systemically in a high enough dose to cause the bad sides if one were prone to them?

Anybody know about results?

I didnt know there was a topical Finasteride. Is it on the market or is this somthing people are mixing up themselves?

I would be very cautious even absorbing it through the skin. At the end of the day, a drug is a drug no matter which way your body consumes it and it would probably yeild much the same results. What I would be more worried about is dosing it correctly. Surely doing it topically could not be as easy to dose.

Have you looked into pregnenolone cream since it does convert to progesterone which is a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor or even saw palmento or standardized nettles root extract for possible alternatives. Hair is more of a genetic thing, and so people say screw it and let nature take its course.

When my DHT tested 2X normal I was on transdermal preg (100 mg). That said, my DHT was high to begin with (even with total T @ 340, DHT was top of range), and I would expect DHT higher if I wasn't on the preg.

I am switching to IM injects and hope this will help a little.

I am on every topical in the book (minoxidil, spiro, nizoral, etc...) and have started thinning in the crown again after being stable for a while. It could be the addition of retin-A to the minox, but I started androgel at the same time I started that, so I'm not sure.

Don't get me wrong, I would gladly change health/QOL for hair, but it is disheartening.
