Hello there,

I'm currently 29 years old. I have been on prescribed TRT for 4 years now. Throughout highschool and college I used legal supplements that ultimately shit down my body's ability to produce adequate test levels.

Long story short is that I know I will be on TRT for life. I currently take 50mg of cypionate every 3rd day. My biggest concern is to be able to conceive a child when I am older. My original endo suggested taking 250ius of hcg the day before injection as well as 25mg of clomid on that same day.

I have been doing the above for 2 years or so. I recently visited a new endo. He suggested coming off TRT every 12-16 weeks and taking 50/100mg of clomid along with 500ius of HCG everyday for 2 weeks, waiting 7 days for the cypionate ester to clear.

Do either of these have any merit? If so, which one? If neither, what do you reccommend or have had success with?

Thank you in advance

This makes no sense. Once you are stabilized on TRT there is no reason to "come off". As a matter of fact, doing so would only complicate things because your body would have to re-stabilize every time you do this which would just make you feel crappy during that time, each and every time.

Your best bet to maintain fertility is to continue with the HCG as you are.

Did you ever have a doctor specializing in TRT try a restart on you? I don't get the medication holiday some people talk about, seems you're either shut down or you aren't.

Maybe some hCG to get you producing naturally and then Clomid/Nolva for a restart? Idk but you should definitely try a restart before resigning yourself to the financial cost of a lifetime of injections.

Thank you....

I agree it makes no sense. Unfortunately my endo no longer practices so I am trying to find a reputible doc down here in south Florida. They are a dime a dozen down here and it obviously shows. I will continue my protocol.

Consider dropping Clomind and switching to EOD schedule.
Both shots on same day next day free.

T-shot=34mg
HCG-shot=250iu

That will keep your present average testosterone dose.
Take care of your testicles.

After about month or better 2 months you may want to do blood testing.

You may want to test the TRT part only.
You may check TRT and iron management
You may want to have longer more involved checkup.

Check my long list of blood tests, ask questions.

We tried hcg and clomid. The best I could muster was around 189 total test.

I went for a more aggressive doctor and she put me on the injections with hcg. My levels (last time I checked) were consistantly high 800s

If that is all you could produce on Clomid and HCG then you are stuck with T cyp or gels.

And I am fine with injections. My only concern is being able to conceive in a few years. I would like to know what others have had success with. Do I continue with HCG and clomid until it is time for us to conceive? This is the only area of my TRT that is very vague and difficult to research.

I didn't think most people did Clomid while on TRT. Usually people on here talk about Tcyp + hCG + Arimidex.

Did you notice any testicular shrinkage while on TRT?

None that I am aware of. Before TRT I noticed atrophy from using OTC pro-hormones, but now they seem to be what I remember as normal.

I am dealing with just starting testosterone 8 weeks ago, my fertility is now fairly low, while before it was just slightly below average. I am going to try to get the hcg up to 250iu every other day and 120mg of test a week. I saw a urologist that was at least open to the idea of doing clomid while on trt, but I can't find any references to anyone doing this.

the HCG I only started 2 weeks ago, and due to a complication, I have to raise the doses slowly. I have gout issues, and the hcg raises uric acid levels. Most people this isn't a problem, since I have these little uric acid crystals in my large toe joint, it merely takes a spike in uric acid to cause a flare up...

Yes, the fertility on TRT is an important topic for me, and I hope to hear how you answer your questions, because I can use the same answers.

Dr. Crisler has had many good things to say about this guy:

His office is in Hollywood, which should be relatively convenient for a south Florida guy.
