Is testicular atrophy once on T gel for a few months a good indication that a person is secondary?

Good question. Seems intuitive, why would they shrivel if they weren't doing nothing in the first place? If they weren't doing anything why would they even notice? Maybe they were doing something, it just wasn't enough? But don't matter to me, primary or secondary, treatment is the same. Might matter to you, though.

I wouldn't think so. Even if primary the testies still produce other hormones as well as a small amount of T normally and are relative normal in size I think.

The way I see it, No, because any severe reduction in LH signaling (as a result of exogenous T) will result in atrophy.
Correct me if I am wrong... If you were chronic secondary to start, LH will have been already reduced and you might already have some decrease in testicle size. If you are already chronic primary you may already have atrophy since the leydig cells may not be as great in quantity or size.
I'm sure someone knows the correct answer.

I just started noticing atrophy this week and I've been on T gel for a couple months now and I do not like it.
I'm supposed to be calling up for my first VOV in a month, will my boys be ok without hCG for another month?

don't know if this helps or not...but I am primary...I have never had large testes..just seemed average and the wife was okay with them... after I began TRT ( gel) I really have not noticed much , if any, difference in their size from before.

Most likely, but I thought the current thought on hCG was to administer concurrently with Testosterone.... you probably cannot comment much more about your treatment plan.

I'm not on a protocol by Dr. Crisler yet, just Androgel from a previous doctor.

Should be fine for another month.
Think about all the women on Birth Control for years... they still are able to recovery their HPTA axis and have children years later...
Most likely people have "mixed" hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
Treatment is the same.

Depends on what you mean by okay. If you're asking whether your boys will reinflate after you start HCG, the answer is probably yes. JanSz was on Androgel alone for some 2 years and his fellas showed up again when he sounded what they thought was the LH whistle.
