Since I brought up L-Theanine in a private discussion not very long ago, I thought I'd post it on here so others can benefit. I'm also posting this link because it is helping my libido. The reason I posted about AF is mainly because theanine has helped me consistantly. That doesn't mean I've found out the root cause of my low libido, but I'm at least shown in the right direction by getting benefits from something--taking into account VERY few agents have helped until now.

Theanine was good for me also, but I noticed tolerance after 1 week, especially if the dose is >200mg/day. You haven't had this problem?

I keep dosage at 100 mg/day, and I cycle it as well. Tachyphylaxis is bound to take place if you don't cycle this, just as it does with pretty much any other substance. I like it though, it's good stuff.

How much are you taking?

4-amino-3-phenylbutyric acid ... is that the same as phenibut, or a close derivative? Quick tolerance... definitely cycle.

Same.

I take it every other day.

It contains

phGABA (phenibut)
L Theanine
5 HTP.

Glorious, and perfect, sleep stack (IMO)

I may start taking melatonin SL in the days in between.

How long have you been on it?

Awhile now. Several months for sure. No issues w/ tolerance taking it EOD

Interesting... that's cool that it keeps working for you. I've read phenibut can produce tolerance/addiction/withdrawl similar to benzos. Instead of sensitizing gaba receptors like benzos, it actually adds more gaba but the net effect on the brain is very similar. I seem to have developed a permanent tolerance to phenibut... it takes a huge dose now to be effective. But then again I am still a big-time insomniac and benzos (temazepam) only knocks me out for about 4 hours. I think I've permanently desensitized my gaba receptors.

100 mg/day that's not much, and I'd probably benefit more by taking 100 mg twice a day to spread it out better over the day.

That's crazy. When I had my insomnia the only thing which worked for me was temazepam. I'd wake up after a few hours with Lunesta, Ambien, and even Ambien CR and couldn't get back to sleep. Jellies were the only thing which could keep me down. But no more insomnia since TRT. I do sort of miss the jellies, though.

If they don't work for you then, yeah, something's farked.

Jellies?

As of note, I have noticed that Valerian also works wonders to sedate me.

I sort of have been using this stack

Day 1
Z-12 1 cap
ZMA 3 cap

Day 2
Valerian Root 1g
Melatonin 2.5mg SL

Just alternating.

I may use L-Dopa if I run GHRP
