This very well looks like my AF thread, but I wanted to keep things organized so I'm starting a new thread.

1. Has anyone with a Dx of thyroid resistance been successfully treated ?

My goal isn't for some people to get offended at my quesitoning such Dx, but at some points there needs to be a reality check such things, in order to find out whether we're chasing a ghost/theories. When someone has suffered for years (me and others on this board), the last thing you want is to waste some of your precious time racking your brains about something which doesn't get much press. However, I do not mean to say that not getting much press means there's no such thing. What I'm saying is let's look at the research and how relevant they are.

Nothing is simple about health, as it gets intertwined in politics and finance most of the time. If something proved to be underlying many conditions for which there are pharmaceutical companies producing high yield agents, chances are said pharmaceutical companies wouldn't want people to know about true etiology of their symptoms/syndrome. Money rules this world, this is why I hold this view. Some people would go the extra mile to make a few bucks, and we all know big pharma is making way more than a few mass producing their pharmaceutical therapeutic agents. I'm not one to trust people's integrity that easily when there's money involved.

I'll look for some basic facts about thyroid resistance and post them later on to get this started.

It's said that thyroid hormone resistance is rare.

What is it that qualifies/quantifie one for a thyroid hormone Dx ? We need to look at thyroid hormones and numbers.

A relevant interrogation is : how widespread this entity is ? The Wiki link in my initial posting points to very low incidence.

How many on here are being treated for THR ?

I have been telling you this for 2 years LOL

I know  but chances I have this are slim my friend. Look at the Wiki link I posted. Granted, Wiki isn't the end all, but still it gives a good general idea.

I don't want to be sending the wrong message here--I genuinely appreciate your help, despite being a bit of a skeptic. Same goes for PMgamer.

Thyroid hormone T3 resistance is very rare.

Symptoms of insufficient thyroid hormone T3 can be due to thyroid resistance (ie: inadequate thyroid hormone metabolism in the presence of typically adequate thyroid hormone T3).

Symptoms of insufficient thyroid hormone T3 can also be due to sufficient thyroid hormone T3 in the presence of insufficient cortisol to transport the thyroid hormones where they need to go.

Symptoms of insufficient thyroid hormone T3 can also be due to insufficient thyroid hormone T3, which can in turn be due to:
a) inadequate iodine
b) inadequate selenium
c) inadequate vitamin D
d) elevated thyroid antibodies
e) poor gut digestion
f) genetic downregulation of thyroid hormone production (advanced aging, or birth defect)
g) genetic downregulation of enzyme D1 expression (advanced aging, or birth defect)

.

I didn't know there was a link between vitamin D and lack of thyroid hormone T3.

So far as improper gut digestion, how would you go about fixing this ? What supplements would you get ? L-glutamine ? Betain HLC ?, digestive enzymes ?

Country Life Betaine Hydrochloride with Pepsin -- 600 mg
Mucos Wobenzym'N
Udo's Choice Super Bifido Plus Orobiotics

Bile acids??

If that does not work

Stop eating wheat, rye, all other grains, sugar, anything that grows under ground

If that does not work.
Eat only meat, fish, eggs, fat, green in color vegetables, to prepare meals, use wet heat max 250F

Would TSH reflect this somehow? and would more thyroid hormone fix the issue?
