View Full Version : Ghrp/ghrh/gh
For those of you on any of the above (GHRP/GHRH/GH), tell me about how your sleep has changed. Do you now require more sleep than before? Do you sleep through the night? Do you have a hard time getting up in the morning?
I'll start out first. I'm only on GHRP-6, taken at night. I accompany it with mucuna eod (was doing ed for a while), as well as huperzine and DMAE. Might be overkill, however. I sleep like an absolute rock. The thing is, work has been keeping me really busy lately, and I've only been able to get around 7 hours of sleep per night. Again, sleeping like a rock, but can't seem to get myself out of bed. I'll also include that before GHRP-6, I generally needed 8-8 1/2 hours of sleep per night. Maybe I need the same or more now?
Anyway, just thought I'd see where everyone else is at.

How was your sleep quality before GHRP-6?
It wasn't great. It had slowly detiorated over the past couple of years.

...which requires more cortisol
...and I've only been able to get around 7 hours of sleep per night.
that's only critical if your adrenals are rate limited and can't heal sufficiently overnight to produce enough cortisol by the morning
Again, sleeping like a rock, but can't seem to get myself out of bed.
Your morning cortisol is most likely too low.

More GH needs more cortisol. Less GH needs less cortisol.
If your adrenals can't deliver enough cortisol to make the GH fully effective, then your adrenals are highly likely to be rate limited (due to genetic downregulation) and you and your medical professional adviser are probably going to have to boost your cortisol along with boosting your GH.
###
Sometimes boosting thyroid hormone T3 levels can boost cortisol output.
But if your adrenals are rate limited (as a result of genetic aging), then boosting thyroid hormone T3 levels will only make matters worse, because extra thyroid hormone T3 levels also requires extra cortisol.
###
Sometimes you just wind up having to supplement with cortisol (for life) to ensure your remaining hormones are working at max efficiency.

Interesting Chillin. I've been on 6mg of medrol for a few years now. Before GHRP it seemed to be enough. Maybe it's not now? I've also tried compounded, slow-release hydrocortisone but it was like a sugar pill (didn't do anything). I might have to boost my medrol a bit.

I have been I GH Humatrope doing .3 mgs or .9 IU's per day started doing them at bedtime but this drove my sugar way down even eating before going to bed did not keep levels up. I needed to switch to doing my HG shots in the morning.
And I added 2.5 mgs of Cortef at bedtime to keep my sugar levels up this is working great. I sleep very deep now don't wake up even to go to the bath room. I still wake at 5 am so I do my shots and take meds and go back to bed I feel great when I get up at 8am.
I was having some ED problems with my Heart meds problem is now gone. I am a lot happier and feel happy. When I go to the gym now I get a pump from working out and I have lost 15 lbs on GH. I am told it's takes about 6 months to see results on GH if this is any sine of things to come I can't wait. So I started on GH 7 weeks ago.

Thanks Phil. Goes to show how the hormones are all so heavily dependent on each other, especially with respect to cortisol, and that many of us have to modulate more than one or two hormones before we get the typical beneficial effects of any one of them (bummer).
As we get older, we're all going to have to wind up having to manage this level of complexity of hormone modulation therapy.
It's just that some of us have to start out earlier than others.

.....and wouldn't it be nice to have the ability to conduct home testing? I would be happy just to have a simple T:E2 meter. I have actually been looking into buying a GC/MS and taking a class.
Chill I had undergone an adrenal replenish therapy with a rebuilder from future formulas (worked great), DHEA and cortisol combo. Cortisol was to park the adrenals while replenishing. Conventional doctor warned me about 10-15 downside concerns ranging from hypoglycemia to having adrenals permanently shut off.
Future Formulations ha stwo other products to combo with the rebuilder all designed to get your adrenals reclocked. I have not tried out the other two products, but I can attest the rebuilder made me almost instantaneously feel great.
Wouldn't stand to reason to try out other replenishing approaches first instead of cortisol, which in my mind acts as a replacement? Respectfully, when I came off the 90 day cycle of cortisol, which was substantially less than the standard use for parking the adrenals, I had sugar swings for about 3 weeks. Then I was told I was suppose to ramp down off cortisol...hindsight is 20/20!
Thanks for your brains!

Hey Phil, This is Tom U from the Yahoo Group. Man am I glad to hear you are turning the corner. We have been up and down the mountain and I am happy for you. Is your GH injects into the stomach and are they covered by insurance? It should be interesting to see how it affects your iron issue. I have nothing to stand on, but I "feel" that somehow there is a cascading effect happening between either the T and or HG and its impact on hepcidin (master iron regulating hormone). I notice my iron load times have gone way done. I still phleb due to the viscosity impacts T has on blood and being out of rhythm with A-Fib I still give blood about once a month now.
